This little family business called Freediving Family is the world’s largest and leading freediving school, founded by Australian Freediving Champion Adam Stern.
We are a community of freedivers that train together, learn together and have an absolute blast in the ocean together!
We truly believe that freediving is for everyone! That freediving is fun! And that the freediving community itself is the best part about freediving!
Our mission is to introduce as many people as possible to the wonders of the underwater world.
We believe that the best way to preserve our oceans is to give as many people as possible the means to experience it. After all, we PROTECT what we LOVE.

The Story of Freediving Family
11 years ago, Adam Stern began his competitive freediving career. While traveling the world, Adam would meet the same divers over and over again at each major competition.
The wonderful thing about freediving competition is that the competitors are also friends. Friends who compete against each other but also support each other. Imagine a group of friends that only get to see each other a few times a year at competitions. A strong sense of community and family is always in the air.
The same bond developed between Adam and his students. They would meet year in year out all over Australia and the world to catch up, share a dive, and explore the ocean together.
Many of the original students have gone on to become freediving instructors, dive centre owners and competitors. We've really turned into a little family of freedivers and our family is growing every day!

Adam Stern is the creator of the Freediving Family. He is an 8 x Australian Record holder and Australian Freediving Champion.
Adam is recognized as one of the leading freedivers in the world. Not just as a competition freediver but also as a pioneer in freediving education. He is one of the creators of the Molchanovs Education System, has taken our current freediving knowledge forward through his research and is the most prolific freediving instructor in the world.
