It is the world's premier Freediving Education Event and the worlds largest freediving festival.

Deep Week brings the best freedivers, freediving instructors and experts from all over the world, to one spectacular place.

A whole week where we can share knowledge and improve our learning.

Freediving in Phuket

Deep Week Thailand, December will be taking place in Phuket, where the water is blue, the beaches are sandy and the food is spicy! Besides being perfect for a trip to spend your winter-summer break, Phuket's location means that world class freediving conditions exist.

A short boat ride from Phuket takes us to a couple of small islands with deep, protected dives. We have access to 60 meters on each dive, but if you need more we can search for it! We’ll be diving from large power boats that can each take 30 divers, so you won’t feel uncomfortable on the boat.

We will be holding the event at Boat Lagoon Resort. The rooms are great, affordable and right next to the marina where our boats will depart each day. You don’t have to stay at Boat Lagoon Resort if you don't want to, but it's a popular place for most people.

  • The Workshops

    Every day our instructors will hold a variety of workshops on different freediving topics.

    You are welcome to participate in as many or as few activities as you like. You can choose which workshops to attend based on your interests.

    During the workshop times, there will be different options and topics that will run simultaneously.

    We have some of the best freedivers and athletes joining us and sharing their knowledge.

  • The Activities

    During Deep Week, we will dive every day. Wednesday is your Rest Day.

    We will hold pool sessions, static sessions and all the Wave theory sessions needed to complete your course.

    We also hold free yoga, meditation and HIIT classes each day.

    Nothing at the event is compulsory. You’re welcome to all the activities and free to do as much or as little as you like.

  • The Schedule

    Your schedule will look something like this:

    6.00am – Sunrise Yoga

    7.30am – Line Training Diving

    2.30pm – Wave Theory or Pool Session

    4.30pm –Workshops and Dry Training

    6pm – HIIT

    6.30pm - Meditation

    7pm – Family Dinner

Certifications

During the 8 days you'll be able to take any level of Molchanovs freediving courses that you like!

  • First time? If this is your first taking a freediving course, you'll be able to sign in for your Wave 1. If you progress nice and easy you can also take your Wave 2 course.

  • If you have taken your Wave 1 course before or equivalent, you'll be able to take your Wave 2 course and start your Wave 3 course.

  • If you have taken your Wave 2 course or equivalent, then you'll be able to take your full Wave 3 course.

  • If you have taken your Wave 3 course or equivalent and are comfortable diving at depth, then you'll be able to complete the highest level of freediving certification, the Wave 4 course.

Staying in Phuket

Pretty much everyone is staying at the Phuket Boat Lagoon resort, which is our home base for the week.

We will hold most of our theory, workshops and pool sessions here, as well depart from the hotel every morning to head out to the marina for our boat dives.

There are other accommodation options you can find via Booking, AirBnB, etc. We strongly recommend you stay at Boat Lagoon for an easier and more comfortable week!

The hotel is the contact for all things related to your accommodation. We do not book accommodation.

  • Of course! If you are just getting started in your Freediving journey, we offer Wave 1 courses which are beginner courses. You will learn all the basics of this sport, physiology, safety, and equalization.

    Most importantly, you will have a whole week to practice your skills and get more comfortable in the water. No rushing through a 2-day course. Get ready to immerse yourself in Freediving with us!

  • All of our courses are Molchanovs Courses.

  • The price includes all workshops, training and certification costs.

    Staff, set-up and facilities to run the event are covered by your ticket.

    It also includes an Event Guide will all the information you need to book your own accommodation, and general suggestions to make this week an unforgettable one.

    Deep Week does not include accommodation, travel expenses, visa fees, COVID tests, meals or gear hire.

    We are also not responsible for how you get to the location. It’s up to you to ensure you have met all the entry requirements of the country, depending on your circumstances. We are unable to provide individual or country-specific advice or assistance.

  • For any circumstances that prevent you from coming to the event, we offer to transfer your payment (deposit or full payment) to a future event in 2024 if you give us at least 30 days notice before the start of the event. We cannot issue refunds. For more info, check our terms of service.

  • Unfortunately it’s not included. You can either bring your own gear from home or rent it in Phuket. We will provide weight/lead for your weight belt.

  • Water is very warm. A 1.5mm or a 2mm wetsuit is perfect but if you have a 3mm, feel free to bring it.

    You can wear the top half of your 3mm suit with leggings or board shorts if the whole wetsuit is too hot. Anything thicker than a 3mm will be too hot.

    You can also bring a rash guard, scuba diving wetsuit, triathlon wetsuit or surf wetsuit.

    Basically the water is warm! Just about any wetsuit will do.

  • You can pay an initial deposit to secure your spot and later on pay the remainder balance.

    With no deposit, there is no booking confirmed.

    As soon as you book in, you will receive an email with a button that says “Pay Remainder Balance”. You can click that button anytime you like.

    We ask the full payment to be covered six weeks before the start of the event.

    You can also choose to pay in full.

  • PayPal or credit card. Your transaction is secured.
